Everything is about perspective. How you were brought up, where you grew up, what principles you learned at home, school, or in the circle of society you roamed around will definitely have an impact on how you see the world, until you awake from one dream only to find out you're on another dream. As long as you are alive in flesh and bone, you will experience all kinds of events even if you don't remember those dreams when you go to sleep.

Yes I know, the N on the picture above is backwards but it does the trick, doesn't it? It's ok if you don't see it that way but next time you and I meet we shall have more discussion about this while we find the wine YOU like because see, the best wine you will ever drink is the one you like. If you don't like a wine, don't drink it. It doesn't matter if it has 99 points from the most famous wine critic because those critics also have their own perspective. The palate they've developed is way different than the palate you've developed and if you don't care about wine scores then you and I have more in common than you thought. I like to think I have a wide spectrum of wines I like. I am not picky but if you start telling me about wine score this, or wine score that I sort of automatically shut off and start thinking instead about the butterflies on the flowers, or if I am tasting a wine along with you I do my own discerning of the taste. Quality? I care about how the wine is made, yes. I don't care for wines that are mass produced but instead I love me some good ol' wine made with love, in small batches. A wine that has a little story more than 99 points on Wine Spectator to me is more delicious than an Opus whatever.

I think wine scores are for people with lots of money who care about status in a society that donates more money to the restoration of Notre Dame than to the efforts of protecting our planet, like the Amazon rain forest. Besides, there is so much great wine being made out there that they aren't going to get a score by these so called professional critics. What I would suggest to you is to visit the closest wineries to where you live first but if there are no wineries around or close by, then go search for a wine store, not a big retail, that will have these small batch produced wines that I am talking about. That's where the fun is. Read about the wine maker, the families making these wines, or the real wine aficionados reviving the almost lost grapes. Did you know there was a time when wine making vineyards were almost wiped out of these planet? Thankfully some old world people immigrated to the new world and brought with them clones of these amazing plants that have lived in our world for millennia and with that a new air and a new wave of wines began. I believe right now is the renaissance of wine, specially coming from the new world.
